Romania entered September with roughly 2.31 GWh of reported battery capacity, then spent the reviewed week licensing, financing, acquiring and commissioning more flexibility while daylight electricity became markedly cheaper than the all-day market. The commercial problem is no longer whether storage will be built. It is whether individual projects can obtain grid access, procure duration appropriate to their revenue stack, survive competition from a rapidly expanding BESS fleet and convert volatile intraday spreads into realised net margin. Solar remains increasingly important to physical system adequacy during daylight; its merchant value, however, is becoming more exposed to timing.","market_period":"Review: 3–9 Sep 2026 · Outlook: 10–16 Sep 2026","published_at":"2026-09-09 23:59:00","path":"/briefings/2026-09-09-flexibility-moved-from-thesis-to-capital-allocation","url":"https://solarindustry.ro/briefings/2026-09-09-flexibility-moved-from-thesis-to-capital-allocation","citation":"Solar Industry Romania. “Flexibility moved from thesis to capital allocation..” Weekly Briefing."}}
